David William JOSLIN
This is my very good friend and authority on the Joslin's of Devon.
David's personal line is in the South West part of England.
He and his family can trace back to around 1600 in the Ashreigny area of Devon
You will find David (a 'Josselin
Society' member) very helpful,
he is always very busy on the web
and often found on the message boards
of the Family History web sites.

David and I have a very large amount of Joslin family history for this area of
the British Isles,
it is sometimes difficult to know how best to publish the
most helpful data for general use,
Parish records, Wills, Pedigrees and Census
data seem to be the data that most of you would like to see on this site.
Below
are links to records of all the JOSLIN's that are transcribed on the Census of 30th March
1851
and on the Census of 3rd April 1881 for the county of Devon.
In 1881, Devon had a population of just over
600,000 souls in an area of about 71 miles square
and the census details for the
336 Joslin's are as follows:
Spelling of JOSLIN 268, JOSLING 35, JOSLYN 18,
JOCELYN 13, JOSLEN 2.

have taken place in the old county of Devonshire England.
