This page holds the records of Essex GOSLING etc that are to be found in the on-line (free) index of the 1901 Census. The list below has been arranged in order of family, it has been placed with the eldest at the start of the family down to the youngest. As it was not convenient to place the families in alphabetical order you may find it easier to use your web browsers find function, just go to Edit on the top bar and on the drop down menu you will see Find click on it and fill in the name or word you would hope to find, remember that names and places may not have been transcribed as we know them today i.e. William may be W. or Wm. or Will. and Susan could be Sue or Susannah, Susanna or Susanne etc, It is also worth bearing this in mind when making any search of indexes, use a wild card if you are in doubt i.e. Gosl* will bring up all the Goslin, Goslings, Goslen etc. Su* should find the Susan you are looking for, W* will bring up all the Williams, Walters and Wilfred's for males. On the hundreds of Joslin images that I have acquired I have at least ten families that have been indexed as JOSLIN's but are in fact GOSLING's, So, if you get a Gosling image and you then find they are Joslin's PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
