or a Marriage that has been registered
since the commencement of civil
registrations in July 1837
in total we have around 22,000 Joslin events
in the UK alone.
It is very obvious that two distinct areas of
Joslin’s have been popular in England;
one in Devon and the other in Essex,
London, Hertfordshire and South
Suffolk.
The registration district with the most events was Chelmsford.
In total
some 6000 Joslin events took place in Essex in various registration
districts,
1800 in Chelmsford (including the Maldon registration
district),
1100 in Braintree (including the Witham and Halstead
registration districts), and
900 in Colchester (including the Lexden and
Tendring registration districts).
